On Christmas Day 2024, families across Britain gathered in homes decorated with twinkling lights and wreaths, settling in for an evening of festive films and leftover turkey. Along Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchley, the sounds of celebration drifted through thin walls – laughter, music and the murmur of people enjoying the holiday. But just after 5PM, those sounds were shattered by something else entirely. A woman emerged on a balcony and screamed out: “I can’t breathe.”
