In early November of 2006, police in Wake County, North Carolina, were alerted to an upmarket home in a quiet and secluded neighbourhood. Inside, the discovered tiny bloody footprints that had been made by a wandering little girl who informed them that her mother had “boo boos everywhere.” Her chilling words only hinted at the horror they would find upstairs.
