Dedrick was only six when this happen. Most six year olds aren’t shooting children. Children are like rocks; they’re easily shaped by their enviornment. An unhealthy home environment, like Dedrick was clearly living in, is what unintentionally lead to him shooting a child. What he did was messed up, and his actions present him to be seriously out of touch with reality. But he most children aren’t born inherent psychopaths. His family failed him, and the fact the dad took little responsibility over that infuriates me. He lived in a crack pot with easy access to GUNS! He was volatile and got suspended for stabbing a child! The warning signs were building up, and unfortunately it took Kayla’s death for them to be noticed and addressed. That shouldn’t happen. The signs of child neglect and severe behavioral issues should be spotted early on, to prevent further tragedies like this. What’s worse is that there’s probably so many children living in conditions like Dedrick, which inevitably leads to messed up people later in life…or even earlier, as this article demonstrates.

Of course, we definitely shouldn’t send Dedrick to jail because…I mean, what kind of 6 year old is in jail? But he should definitely be sent to a juvenile psychologist or sent to a juvenile detention for a few years. His behavior was appalling and clearly there’s some problems going on with him mentally. Speaking of which, I wonder what he’s doing today. I think the name “Dedrick Owens” actually is a placeholder, because the Wikipedia article seems to be unaware of his real name. I hope he’s gotten past this troubled behavior. By the way, I feel the school also has some play in this. How did this child get a gun into the school so easily? This was less than a year after Columbine.

Regardless of what your stance is on the case, there is one thing we can agree with: Kayla’s death was avoidable and depressing. I’m glad the mom was able to put this incident into activism. R.I.P. Kayla, you definitely didn’t deserve that, and I hope you are flying high with the angels.

Didn’t you paid attention to the details above? When Kayla saw her blood on her shirt, she said, “I’m going to die.” SHE KNEW, OKAY?! And she was also 6 years of age, you got that? And do you get this? Kayla was exactly 7 days younger than Dedric. And for the record, I personally encountered Dedric’s father, Dedric. Sr., from school. Want me to go there? Okay, here goes: late August 1986 – Me in the 7th grade as a 12-year-old and in the Physical Education class. I was in the school gym, first day in class just doing nothing but trying to line up for attendance, when all of a sudden and for absolutely no reason, this big, tall, physically strong boy approached me from behind, then very roughly nearly SLAMMED ME HEADFIRST into a SOLID, BRICK WALL. I pushed him off as hard as I could, and shouted at him, “Get off me!” Then, this fucking bastard dared to try to PUNCH ME IN MY FACE!! At that point, the Phys. Ed teacher immediately jumped in and shouted at him, “Deadric! Get off that boy!” The teacher then shoved that bastard off me, then he shouted to him again – and what he said to Dedric really shocked me, “16 years old and here you are picking on a little boy! What’s your problem?!”
16 fucking years old, stuck in the SEVENTH GRADE, and PICKING on a PROPERLY-AGED 12-YEAR-OLD SEVENTH GRADER?! This idiot was supposed to be in HIGH SCHOOL and in the11th grade! Dedric, Sr. was no good to ANYONE, and the same can be said about his stupid wife, Tamarla, and his entire family, especially his son Dedric, Jr. The entire family have been drug dealers for decades. Do you have any idea how many Black families they have destroyed with their incompetence? How many people have died from their hubris? And Tamarla was a notorious liar, drug dealer, violent troublemaker, and a really stupid woman. Too stupid to check the house first before leaving her 2 stupid sons there. The Beecher school system has a long history of ethic violations that should have the entire system shut down for good, like the one I pointed out earlier. And as for Dedric and Kayla, the bastard Dedric was born on May 5, 1993. According to CNN on MLK B-Day 2023, he was 29, but they claimed they don’t know what he’s doing right now, oh, REALLY!?
And Kayla was born on May 12, 1993. In fact, as of this very day of this message, May 12, 2023, today would have been Kayla’s 30th Birthday. Also, there’s a growing number of people here in Flint, most of them Black, like me, that want to see Dedric finally get what’s coming to him. Even now that Sandy Hook, Uvalde, Oxford HS, and now Michigan State University have all been hit with this wave of epidemic school domestic terrorism. All of these incidents are HIS doing and accountability. And he’s got the blood of ALL these people that died from these incidents- even Kayla’s – on HIS hands. Another thing to add, recently, here in Flint, there’s a growing number of “homeless” people standing in street corners and even harassing passers-by. Chances are Dedric, Jr. could be among them. A price for him to pay for what he’s done 23 years earlier. It is said in the Bible that life works in mysterious ways with bad karma and curses. This could be the case for him. And he was expelled for life because he KILLED someone in school OUT OF RAGE. 30 minutes before he shot Kayla, he was in the boys’ restroom ranting away with another boy saying, “I’m gonna kill Kayla.” over and over. The boy told him he was gonna inform a teacher, then Dedric punched him in the face, pulled out the gun and THREATENED to SHOOT HIM – RIGHT THERE!! Then after he got the the classroom, he WAITED until AFTER the teacher walked out the room, then he pulled out the gun and started CUSSING, i.e., yelling PROFANE LANGUAGE – A SIX YEAR OLD SWEARING IN A CLASSROOM! He pointed that gun at several other kids before turning the gun to Kayla, OAKY?!
Now, it’s 23 long years later, and he has NEVER come out to APOLOGIZE TO THOSE HE DID HARM TO, not his former classmates, not the teacher, not the paramedics, not the ER doctors who tried to save Kayla, not to those who suffered at Sandy Hook, not to those from Oxford HS, not to those from Uvalde, not to those from MSU, not to Kaya’s family, and NOT TO KAYLA, EITHER!! 23 years is a long time to never apologize or beg for forgiveness. I don’t care how 6-years-old he was then. Even a 6-year-old should know and learn to apologize to others. I did when I was 6-years-old, myself. And there’s something, too. Thanks to Marjorie Taylor Greene, she exposed this: George H.W. Bush, as the President of the United States, signed a bill into law called the Gun-Free School Zone Law in 1990. This is a FEDERAL law with a POTUS’ official signature on it forbidding ANYONE – even 6-YEAR-OLD kids to bring guns of any other lethal weapons on school property. That means Dedric Darnell Owens, Jr. have fucked himself up and got himself expelled and banned from all schools across America, even colleges and universities – which have VERY STRICT RULES about people with VIOLENT BEHAVIOR, mind you, FOR LIFE .

She DID tried to save his life to stop him from making the biggest mistake of it, and he was too stupid to think about it. And here in this city & surrounding area, people are extremely very fickle about hiring certain people for jobs here. And they WILL be looking up his full name and SSN, along with school records, which among them, show any violent behaviors while in school. And someone with only a 1st grade level won’t get far in life. Remember what I said about those “homeless” people? Consequences? You wanna talk about that? Well now imagine yourself being responsible for starting a wave of copycat mass murders of at least 2 more elementary schools along with many OTHER similar incidents at parades, movie theaters, festivals, concerts, birthday parties, worship houses, funeral homes, cemeteries, funerals, weddings, so-called “Stand Your Ground” laws, shopping malls, sports facilities, and such. That what Dedric Darnell Owens, Jr. did back in February 29, 2000. That’s a LOT of blood, wasted lives, misery, pain & suffering one person caused to occur and to have on his hands. Stop defending him and his actions. And BTW, Dedric, Sr died in March 2007 to a drug overdose & Tamarla’s useless quack ass became no good to anyone else, and is very likely “homeless” along with disgraced, vilified, unwelcomed, distained, hated, ignored, rejected, of jobs, shelter, money, bank accounts, financial assistance, resources, and such.
