I’m sure this has brought to surface a whole new set of feelings for the family, because until now I guess there has always been some hope that she might be somewhere even though they have known for many years that she’s likely gone. Losing a child is bad enough, not knowing, wondering, imagining, has to be excruciatingly painful. While finding her would bring full closure, I’m not sure if seeing what likely is just bones and scraps of familiar clothing— might not be the best thing as a last vision of their child. It was all over the news for so long and I remember when it happened. The mother writes to michaela regularly and she’s always with her. Mother’s love and so much loss.

It sucks that only a palm print was left behind and not a fingerprint because I bet the man that abducted this little girl has committed other crimes and if he were caught for any of those crimes then his prints would be on a database and he could be tied to this case.

I hope this is the year her family get some answers.
