Thomas Davidson was my g-g-g-grandfather. His fourth son, Robert Telford Davidson, immigrated to Australia in 1854 and was the founder of our Davidson family in Australia. I have always found Thomas’ story a very sad one and it has come down through the family that his father’s death, followed by that of his mother, was more than likely a contributing factor to his move to Australia.

With these old cases where someone gets away even though they are clearly guilty, I always wonder what the outcome in a trial today would be…. Real sad justice wasn’t served.
